Naya Kanga And Ganja La Pass Trek - 17 Days
6018 01/05/2015 Trekking 205 /The Naya Kanga Peak and Ganja La Pass Trek is a challenging venture that catapults you to the elevation above 5000 meters, as you traverse along the well trodden trails in picturesque and serene milieu of Langtang, passing by the interesting Tibetan settlements. We basically embark on the route to Langtang Valley Trek till Kyangjin Gompa, the last Tibetan village in the region. It’s from here that the trail gradually elevates to the Naya Kanga Base Camp (4600m), only to rocket up further to the Naya Kanga Summit (5846m). We conquer the summit and then take up another back to back challenge of trudging up the daunting, Ganja La Pass (5106m). If its spring, lucky you!! Apart from the captivating Himalayan vistas (Mt. Shisha Pangma- 8013m, Langtang Lirung- 7200m etc.) you can relish from the pass, the trails below embellished with blooming rhododendrons and verdant forests would also be the rejuvenating treat to your jaded eyes! The tough terrains and daunting ascents might make you feel crippled out of fatigue, but then the moment you shower your glances around the fascinating panorama, you get all jacked up. So, after those mammoth undertakings, we then make a soothing downhill walk down through the remote isolated region to Tarke Gyang. Before we drive back to Kathmandu, we have an awesome camping at Kakani, a lovely little hill station about an hour’s drive away from Kathmandu.

The Tamang Heritage Trek catapults you to the culturally rich region smeared with Tibetan culture and tradition, very accessibly located to the north of Kathmandu. Most often than not, we follow the routes of the Langtang Valley Trek. The traditional Tamang villages showcased by the wood carved houses, pristine surrounding, orthodox monasteries, verdant pastures, captivating mountain views and the insight into the unique Tamang culture are the major attractions of this trek. You can relish the splendid views of Langtang Lirung (7245m), Dorje Lakpa (6989m), Langtang Kerung, Chumse Danda ridge (5122m), Jugal Himal etc. and can also spot some of the most interesting wild lives like bears, leopards, red pandas and even the aromatic musk deer. If you are trekking during March and April, you will be walking on the trails embellished by the pinky rhododendrons and several other species of colorful flowers. The trek offers a good opportunity to get acquainted to the history and rich culture of the Tibetan ancestors.
