If we try to walk in a dark place without having any source of light, we face many difficulties. A world without vision is meaningless to people. There are many people who have not seen this beautiful world. They have not seen how a tree looks like, how clouds look like, etc. Have you ever thought about it? We just walk in a dark place and after 10-15 minutes we start feeling like it is not our cup of tea. What about those people who have to spend their entire life like this? It is our duty to help them; such good and social work is called an eye donation.
TYPES OF BLINDNESS
There are different types of blindness, which are listed below-->
* Colorblindness
* Night blindness
* Complete blindness
WHAT IS COMPLETE BLINDNESS?
A person who has complete blindness means the complete vision of the person is lost. A person with good eyesight can see an object which is kept at a distance of 200 ft. A person with weak eyesight can see an object which is kept at a distance of 20 ft. This is the standard range of vision and is denoted by 20/200. Complete blindness can be caused by different factors. These factors may be present in the person since birth or may be produced later in the body. It has been said that the major cause for complete blindness is diabetes. Because of diabetes, the retina is destroyed.
WHAT IS COLOR BLINDNESS?
Color blindness is also known as dyschromatopsia. Those people who have color blindness are not able to recognize the colors. The most common colors which are not recognized by people are shades of green and red color. Color blindness is more common in men as compared to women. This type of blindness is caused because of the presence of a gene which is said to be defective in the X chromosome. Color blindness is present in a person from birth. Color blindness is more common in men because men have only one X chromosome. On the other hand, two X chromosomes are present in women.
WHAT IS NIGHT BLINDNESS?
People who have the night blindness disorder have trouble in watching the objects at night. Generally, these people cannot drive at night. The night blindness is caused by the lack of Vitamin A in the body or by retinal disease.
DONATE YOUR EYES
As human beings, we should help people who are blind. We can help them either by donating eyes or by donating money. We should donate eyes. Let those people have an opportunity to watch this beautiful world. Donating eyes is a big task, not everyone can give their eyes away. But we can donate money easily. This is not a big deal.
